Other Professional Experiences

2003-Present Owner of Quiltage, LLC (publishing and educational company) I coined the term “Quiltage” for the process I use to create collages that repurpose artwork using techniques reminiscent of quilt-making. I developed a teaching philosophy and instructional manual that bring out the artist in everyone and include them in creating fine art.

1986-2003 Owner of TobinDesign (graphic-design and illustration studio) I provided creative solutions for the publishing, corporate and product markets. TobinDesign clients included Herman Miller, Steelcase, Random House, Scholastic and Hasbro Toys.

1983-1986 Senior Art Director, Johnson and Dean, Grand Rapids, MI

1982-1983 Art Director, Sefton Associates, Grand Rapids, MI 1981-1982 Art Director, Grand Rapids Magazine, Grand Rapids, MI
